Henhousebeads Inspiration with Aspen & Lucien

This charm bracelet blog brings a little inspiration starring the Henhousebeads Aspen and Lucien beads.

The Henhousebeads Lucien is the newest design to join the brand’s collection and it’s a lovely bead for the spring season. It’s vibrant in it’s colouring and it’s pattern reminds me of tree foliage and the shimmer and nuances you can see from that when the sun streams through.

It’s been a popular design for the brand, to the extent that we’ve struggled to keep it in stock. Today I’m showcasing a bracelet that combines Lucien with another of my favourite Henhousebeads; Aspen.

Henhousebeads Aspen & Lucien

When it comes to colours I’m an autumn and winter girl. I love darker shades so summer bracelet combinations is something I struggle with. The irony is I did start this bracelet with the best of intentions, having pooled together Lucien, some nature inspired silver beads and the lovely custom made gold Blooming Katniss Pendant (available here)

) As is often the case the end result feels quite autumnal.

Henhousbeads Summary

Part of my motivation for this particular bracelet was wanting to revisit the Redbalifrog Green Man and Holly Man ahead of the launch of the Green Goddess as one of the event beads for the Great Lakes Boutique Bead Bash on the Lake. I think she’ll work rather well in this combination!

Very pretty combination, and a nice theme for Earth Day too! I like your reference that Lucien reminds you of the dappled light and shimmer of tree foliage. Iā€™m looking forward to the release of Green Goddess, and with that Iā€™m hoping that Redbalifrog might come out with one more God/Goddess in the future so that the four could represent each of the season solstices.

I do wonder about Aspen, can you clarify if this glass is more red or brown? Or does it maybe color shift a bit depending on the individual bead/batch?

      Hi šŸ™‚

Yes that’s exactly what it looks like. It’s like standing under a huge tree and looking up. It’s a really beautiful effect on the bead and I’m not surprised it’s proven so popular.

Aspen I would definitely define as red. It’s like a very deep terracotta. It has too much orange in there to be burgundy (and it’s a creamy colour too) but too much red to be brown either. It’s my favourite of the red hued beads from Henhouse šŸ˜€ I’d definitely recommend it as it’s a very unusual shade too. There’s nothing else out there quite like it.
