Halloween 2014 – Ghost Charms

This charm jewellery blog brings a look at my rather limited collection of ghost charms, starring Pandora and Ohm Beads.

We’re now mere days away from Halloween and I hope everyone has enjoyed the bracelet inspiration and featured charms to date. When I think of Halloween one of the first things that leaps to mind are ghosts and yet there actually aren’t many spooks represented among my featured brands. What follows is a quick look at what I’ve collected to date.

Ghost Charms

Perhaps the most favourite ghost charm on the market is Pandora’s. It’s ludicrously simple and some may argue it looks dull compared with their more modern creations and all of the intricacies they deliver. Still I suspect it’s a favourite and it’s difficult to not see the appeal. It’s actually now retired but it’s not super difficult to find.

Where Trollbeads have their museum of retired beads, Ohm Beads have their collector’s items signifying the same point. One of my absolute favourite retired Ohm Beads charms is their Teruterubozu Good Weather Doll. These are ghost dolls hung outside of windows to ward away bad weather but as the name suggests, they’re quite spooky!

Pandora and Ohm Beads complement each other wonderfully in size.

I used these two charms to create a Ghostbusters themed bracelet at the weekend.

Ghost Charms Summary

It’s also worth mentioning that Chamilia have a retired ghost charm too, though given I’m a new Chamilia collector I don’t have it.

For those looking to acquire the Ohm Beads Teruterubozu Good Weather Doll, Perlen have one in stock here but be quick as obviously they won’t be restocking. If you’re searching for the Chamilia Ghost it can be found here (just pop “ghost” into the search bar and please note the link is affiliate.)

As always I love to hear from my readers. With just a few days until Halloween have you finalised your holiday charm bracelets? Do you own any of the charms featured here? Hit the comments and let me know!

Beautiful beads, I’m hoping that Troll will do a good ghost for next Halloween.

By ‘good’ I mean chunky, not tinny.

Oh I’d love to see that. Actually when you look at all the brands I have hear, two ghosts seems a poor showing doesn’t it? I like the Ohm Beads version but it’s very small. Pandora’s is typically cute. I agree with you, there’s definitely a glaring hole for a really chunky piece. I’m not sure how many variations you could manage on a ghost in terms of detailing but I’d like a not cute one – genuinely spooky!

I’ve been waiting for Trollbeads to make a decent Ghost silver bead since I have started collecting 🙂 I was hoping it would appear as this year’s People’s bead winner but the only ghost bead entry that I saw was a cute copy of Pandora one. I like the Ohm one much better but as you’ve said: their beads can really be so very tiny.
So next year I’m hoping that Troll will finally make a spooky scary different Ghost silver. I could really do with one and wouldn’t wear it only for Halloween. Or maybe Redbalifrog could make one! That would be a nicely detailed chunky piece of silver that I’m sure I’d love to have 😀
I could also do with a nice Mummy silver bead since we are already talking spooky…:-D

I sure wish I would’ve gotten the teruterubozu-good-weather-doll a few months ago when I had the chance. I’ve been kicking myself ever since.

It was available on Perlen when I published the article this morning but they sold out really quickly then 🙁

Yay! I actually found one from a dealer in Canada!

Can you give the name of the retail and phone number for the weather doll?

The article is over a year old 🙂 I think it’s safe to assume the charm is gone. Especially since it was so sought after 🙂

I’ve been wearing my Pandora Halloween charms lots lately, first Halloween that I’ve been a charm collector! I didn’t even think I’d be interested in holiday charms, but I went to a store that was closing and bought the Pandora jack o lantern first at 60% off along with a couple Christmas charms (among others!) and that was all it took. I then got the ghost and witch on Rue La La for really good prices. The ghost is so adorable but my favorite is probably the witch as it’s so detailed. Other charms I use for Halloween are Purrfect Together to represent black cats, the retired alarm clock as a spooky haunted clock, new King of the Jungle (lion head with crown, I don’t know why this seems Halloween to me but I think it fits as a sort of fantasy style bead), Elfbeads flower fairy, Elfbeads pegasus (same reasons, fantasy beads). Today I did a black and white glass theme with these beads so I added the Pandora Mi Amor black onyx heart dangle and some pearl dangles and black and white pave charms.
