ACA Kreations Metal I Preview

This charm bracelet blog brings a preview of the upcoming ACA Kreations Metal I.

For fans of the ACA Kreations glass line, there’s a very special treat coming to Great Lakes Boutique later this week. To celebrate the start of the fall season comes the ACA Kreations Metal I design and the colours are perfect to start your fall bracelets.

Though glass is new to the ACA Kreations line, all of the designs are being limited to relatively small batches, much like his silver beads. The total number of ACA Kreations Metal I is three hundred beads. The price will be confirmed later this week and ahead of the launch on Saturday September the 8th.

The base of this glass is a lovely dark teal colour. Copper has then been used not only to create this wonderful, warm contrast but also give a genuine metallic sheen to the beads. The result is striking, feels perfect for the autumn season and yet has something verging on an almost steampunk vibe.

The beads do vary both in size and in terms of how much copper is in each bead. Some have streaks, others have full bands.

ACA Kreations Metal I Summary

The launch time will be 6pm EDT on Saturday September the 8th on the Great Lakes Boutique website. That’s midnight for the European collectors, 11pm for the UK fans and 3pm for those on PDT. This design will not be available from the ACA Kreations website and we will be selling from live images. Our standard free global shipping policy will apply.

This is a really unusual glass design. While part of me feels the colours make it perfect for the fall and seasonally apt, another finds it really quite contemporary. It looks amazing on copper bangles and I’ll be sharing some ideas ahead of the Saturday launch.

As always I love to hear from my readers. What are your thoughts on the ACA Kreations Metal I? Hit the comments and let me know!

Oh no, another must-have from ACA 😎
Spot on for the Autumn combinations πŸ‚

    • endangeredtrolls

Glad you like it and yes, it’s got a lovely warm feel for the autumn πŸ™‚

  2. Maria

I’m sorry to say but my honest opinion: it’s an eyesore !

Please feel free to remove my comment but honestly I think it’s an eyesore to say it gentle.

    • Tana

Eyesore? Well, that’s harsh. But it is a good thing everyone isn’t attracted to the same beads. That means I have a better chance of getting some because I think it is stunning!

      • endangeredtrolls

As you say everyone has their own tastes and even with three hundred – which is the largest run of glass Alex wants to do – I still suspect demand will outweigh the supply.

    • endangeredtrolls

Sorry to hear you don’t like it πŸ™‚

  3. brook

will there be live pictures to choose from?

    • endangeredtrolls

That’s covered in the article πŸ™‚

  4. Lola

I like it, it’s gritty, got character, and teal is a strong color and hard to wear, so it perfectly suits such a rebel bead. Two of my fave leather bracelets from Amen Collection are teal.

  5. Niky

I find these glasses are a Real beauty…. cant agree with a comment above calling them “eyesore”….
Maybe cause I do love contemporary arts and objects, I find those really Amazing.
I m just worried about prices, as I m not prepared to spend a crazy amount of money on a Glass.
    But I definetely adore them!!!!

  6. Katie

I love it. I love the colors. Good luck to all. Sadly, I have already volunteered to work the day for my kids’ school and there will not be a break for me to stop and shop. By the time that I will be free, these lovelies will be gone.

    • Nereida

You could very well luck out as the demand for the glass beads is not as high as for the silver ones and there are 300. The silver beads in that quantity don’t sell out right away.

      • Katie

Well, here’s hoping!! I will be checking the site as soon as I’m able. I’d love to get the bead, but I know that I’ll survive if I can’t.

  7. Angela

Would not say an eyesore but will say this is striking ,different and will be a very difficult bead to work with. Most Copper beads fade to the ugly brown patina which IMO won’t look that good with the shiny Copper and though Teal one of my favorite colors is also hard to match.

My issue with this is the strict limit of quantity being produced . Again IMO if there is no matching beads available then more than one would be necessary. Not really a fan of one focal with two silvers and Stoppers along side look. So I would need at least three, and depending on price that could be cost prohibitive.

True 300 of some Silvers don’t move that fast as most people tend to buy one of a Silver unless they are into symmetry but for glass they tend towards multiples. Here’s hoping that in the future Alex has the perfect complimentary bead in production and that those of us who want multiples can get as many as we want.

Lol, I can already hear the complaints six months from now if someone has a bracelet full and someone else decided that they like them and cannot get one.

    @Victiria,
Looking back I cannot think of another glass that seemed more challenging so really anticipating what you come up with πŸ€—

    • Lola

Teal is difficult to wear for a lot of people, especially if people are trying to match with other jewelry. I think to wear teal well you have to put matching, and even coordinating aside and be willing to wear it in opposition to other jewelry. I wear my teal leathers with copper bangles, which coordinates, but then I wear them in opposition to the beads on those copper bangles. I wear them pretty much daily in opposition to almost everything, and it works, because teal is a strong color, but not a jarring color, not like some yellows or even some very annoying purples. Teal is also one of the top design colors for 2019.

  8. Lisa G

I think it will complement northern lights.

  9. Pippa

Definitely excited to see more glass from ACA Kreations at GLB!!!

Overall this is a pretty cool looking bead, though I was glad to read that there will be live pics. That and the free ship are big advantages to having them released through GLB. From your pics above there are definitely some I like and others that I don’t and then there is the variation in size.

I love the teal color and the copper looks good with it!
I am curious about how the copper is done and if it’s likely to tarnish like Trollbeads old silver. I just don’t want them turning my wrist green!

    Looking forward to Saturday!

    • endangeredtrolls

They vary a lot. I don’t think there’s any other way to offer them aside from live images personally :O

In regards to potential oxidisation I have three on my desk that are easily 4 months old now and there’s bee no changes at all πŸ™‚

      • Pippa

        Thanks!!

  10. Jane

Revisiting the article again… Teal is a favorite colour of mine and the rust-red can be combined with many other colours. I think these will match Taiga and Terracotta from True Beadz perfectly for a true Autumn mood. Or if you want to go even more in the nature feel, combine it with matching emerald and jasper stones.
I like the organic look, you really get the feeling of individually created beads that are definitely not mass produced.

  11. Marie

While some people are saying these beads look very modern, I see these colors and my first thoughts drift to Native American Indian themes. Along that thought, I can see this bead worn with either modern styled silvers for a cool look, or possibly animals for a more traditional look. I also think these beads might look great with creams… glass or possibly even pearls… or black onyx for a possibly striking look. I guess I don’t see this bead’s color choice to be limiting, but more a great spark of color.

    • endangeredtrolls

I can see your comments about Native American themes and it’s definitely an interesting one. I’ll be sharing what I did with them.. I HOPE.. before the release tomorrow but at the same time, I’m so far behind right now it’s not even funny anymore πŸ˜›

  12. kather

These beads remind me of a favorite task in 7th grade chemistry: determine all of the elements in malachite. Copper is a strong presence. I think Alex is brilliant in mixing the turquoise green glass with copper, and definitely hope to snag a few (Right. Lotsa luck.). I also agree with Marie, above, that these have a decided Native American look. I am curious, Victoria, as to whether these might work with Trollbeads Rainbow Hematite. The ones I own have similar tones to the ACA Metal beads. What do you think?

Cannot wait to see live images on Saturday!

    • endangeredtrolls

      Sorry for the slow reply.

Ummmm I’ll be honest, I don’t actually have the Rainbow Hematites. I tried to team it with the Yellow Hematite earlier in the week and while the “finish” felt right, the colour was off.. the yellow and the copper just didn’t quite feel right to me. The rainbow could potentially be better but I can’t try it for you πŸ™

      • Lisa G

I have the rainbow hematite. That bead has purple, pink , green…could match but I don’t see them looking good together.

        • kather

I think you are probably right, Lisa G. Of course, holding the hematites up to Victoria’s photos on my computer screen may not be the best comparison! So, I’ll find some other combos. Or not. (!) Can’t wait to see what Victoria comes up with. Assuming she has her head above water… Victoria?… πŸ™‚

  13. MaLa SaHan

absolutely STUNNING and very different from what everybody else has done

    • endangeredtrolls

Yes. It’s unusual and it’s distinctive and of course it won’t be universally loved for that reason but it’s always nice to see different πŸ˜‰

  14. Angela Field

I love these beads and think they are going to really compliment the Samurai collection. However I prefer smaller beads, will you be able to see sizes?

    • endangeredtrolls

Tough one. I personally feel it’s impossible to really convey sizes no matter how you photograph. The stock I have photographed has been split into random groups so it’s clear to see within the group which beads are small and which are larger but giving context to that is really difficult. For what it’s worth – for the most part – I’d say these beads run to the more petite side.

  15. Simone

Maybe that will be my first ACA (if I’m able to get one!) πŸ™‚

    • endangeredtrolls

Best of luck! There’s a good sized batch going online. Well.. all three hundred πŸ˜› So hopefully most people who can be online at the release time should be in with a good chance I’d say πŸ™‚
