ACA Kreations Great Lakes Boutique Event Bead Teaser

This charm bracelet blog brings the first sneak peek at the up and coming ACA Kreations Great Lakes Boutique event bead!

The Great Lakes Boutique Bead Bash on the Lake Spring 2018 event has confirmed dates of May the 4th, May the 5th and May the 6th. This is undoubtedly going to be the largest event to date in terms of the sheer amount of effort being invested.

We’ve also mentioned that there are reasons you really need to attend this event in person. Of course there will still be the online bead parties but there are a couple of things that are only going to be available in store.

Alex has always refused to work with retailers so we’re thrilled that he agreed to make us an event bead. I’ve been lucky enough to watch this bead slowly evolved and it’s such an amazing design. As most people know, Alex and myself have known each other for a long time and from when he was originally still based with Eske Storm. I’ve been a collector from his earliest days and the bead is very reminiscent of his original work. We’re not going to be showing a complete preview just yet but today we are sharing a teaser.

For the benefit of those who missed the original announcement, here’s the details of how the bead will be handled. The design is exclusive to Great Lakes and will not be made available through the ACA Kreations website. Due to the way Alex works, large production isn’t possible (and nor would he want it to be, it’s the beauty of his art,) so this bead will be offered in store only and attendees will be limited as to their purchases too. If any stock remains at the end of the event, it will be sold via the Great Lakes website but we’re expecting all of the beads to sell in store. There will be no phone orders or Facebook orders during the event. You must be in store to get this bead.

You can see from the teaser that it’s a silver barrel design, my absolute favourite of Alex’s style (though admittedly I’m including the Elements in that category.) I’m hoping you can kind of grasp an idea of the size against Alex’s finger; it’s a good sized bead.

I have to confess to getting a little emotional about this design because it’s ACA Kreations and it’s Great Lakes and I have had such a long and cherished relationship with both. That said it is a genuinely beautiful bead.

As always I love to hear from my readers. Are you a fan of ACA Kreations? Do you like barrel shaped beads and what are your thoughts on the teaser? Are you heading to the Great Lakes Boutique Bead Bash on the Lake? Hit the comments and let me know!

Killing me! Is it going to be all silver? When do we get the next glimpse of this beauty? I know I love it already! It will be May sooner than we know! Woohoo!

Yes it’s all silver 🙂 And I have no idea. Alex and I have a lot to work out at the moment 😉

  2. Kim

Very intriguing! Can’t wait to see the finished product! The chance to shop Alex’s designs in person has been one of the biggest enticements to Bead Bash, and I’m eagerly awaiting the event. Definitely something to look forward to to help one see beyond this horrid winter weather.

It’s a lovely design. I’m so pleased this has all worked out because I really really like this particular bead and I’m so excited to have it attached to GLB 😀

  3. Renee

looking forward to this bead, I’m hoping perhaps it is sunshine on the lighthouse ???

  4. Marie & Donovan

This will be fun! We always look forward to Bead Bash and visiting with everyone at the event.

Alex – Both thank you and congratulations for doing this design and work for us!

  5. Pippa

This is so exciting. I am also a big fan of Alex’s beads and find the barrel (and almost barrel) so easy to wear and this looks like a perfect size.

Congrats to you, Alex and Mike for making this happen.

  6. Nereida

This is so hard. Just enough of a tease to make me try to figure it out but not enough to. It looks like a sun with rays. I imagine it can’t be a being or object due to the barrel design., so a scene of skme sort. Because you said it is reniscent of his older designs I assume less absyract. But then, I always seem to guess wrong. Looks lime a perfect size. 🙂

  7. Nereida

some sort and reminiscent. I type slower than I think.
