ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun

This charm bracelet blog bring a dedicated review of the upcoming ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun, exclusive to Great Lakes Boutique for Bead Bash on the Lake.

We’re now just four weeks away from the Great Lakes Boutique Bead Bash on the Lake and this weekend we’ll be making some huge announcements regarding that. The first of those announcements will be at 6pm EST tonight. That’s midnight for those of you on European time, 11pm for the Brits and (sorry…) 6am for most parts of Asia. You will not want to miss it. The second will be tomorrow at 9am EST. In conjunction with all of this there will be a Trolllbeads online mini event with some particularly amazing gemstones.

Today on social media I’ll be recapping some of the already announced specials for the event so be sure to follow on Facebook, Instagram or the Great Lakes Boutique Facebook and Instagram. I will recap all of this in a blog post after the announcements are made too.

With all that in mind I’m showcasing the ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun, one of the event beads for Bead Bash on the Lake.

ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun

The ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun is exclusive to Great Lakes Boutique as our spring event bead. It’s limited edition of course, as is all of Alex’s work. The original intention had been for this bead to be in store only but due to demand, we will put some stock online. The times for those listings will be announced closer to the event. It’s set to retail at $165 and the official launch date will be May the 4th. There are no pre-orders or reserves of any kind.

It’s a 2cm long barrel with a lot of weight to it. It’s clear to see why the bead is named as the Rising Sun features prominently. As indeed does wave detailing very reminiscent of the original and long retired ACA Kreations Waves. It’s a spectacular design.

This bead would look perfect on an Asian inspired bracelet and for reference there will be limited stock of the Trollbeads Rising Sun bead both in store and online during the event weekend. One of my favourite pieces of art is the The Great Wave off Kanagawa and I have tried to recreate those colours in the past with very little success. I am going to try again with this bead however! Until then I decided to showcase it on a beach themed bracelet. A couple of weeks ago I published an editorial for the Redbalifrog Ombak the Whale using a mix of Trollbeads Cat’s Eye Quartz and Moon Ocean glass.

It proved incredibly popular and we completely sold out of the beads that had been used to create it. It also made my love of the Cat’s Eye Quartz rather rekindled. I love the darker variations of this stone. Some of the patterns almost resemble wood. I’ve also been playing a great deal with the Rocky Beach Kit again as I was so surprised by it’s retirement. For me a beach bracelet should be all about texture and that’s what I aimed for with this bracelet.

ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun Summary

For those of you who missed the original Waves, this is a perfect alternative. It’s size makes it a focal bead but it’s not too large for bracelets, even for those with more petite wrists.

The gemstones and glass beads used for this bracelet will make up our first listing of the mini online event and they will be live at Great Lakes Boutique shortly.

As always I love to hear from my readers. Will the ACA Kreations Bead of the Rising Sun be on your wishlist for Bead Bash on the Lake? Do you have any ideas as to how you will wear it? Hit the comments and let me know!

I love this bead. I have my money ready and my fingers crossed for this one. Getting really excited . I can’t believe it’s just a month away!

  2. Megan

That is a fantastic bead. Would it work with the Ohm bead ball necklace? I used to own a TB Fantasy necklace, but got rid of it. I wish it fit on a bangle…that is my bracelet of choice.
